Contributed towards developing an event management app specifically designed for the Olympics. Contracted to enhance the user experience, ensuring the app was intuitive, easy to navigate, and provided all necessary information and features for a seamless and enjoyable Olympic experience.

Overview

Engaged as a User Research consultant for the research initiative aimed to enhancing the user experience of the official app for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. The core objective of this app was to deeply immerse end users in the Olympic spirit, offering them a comprehensive overview of both past and present sports activities and venues for the worldwide audience.


User Research and Navigation Testing

I contributed to user research as part of the research team. The objective was to understand the app’s target audience will likely use the app. We tested the app's navigation across an extensive range of mobile devices. This phase was meant to identify any potential usability issues that could hinder the user experience. By simulating real-world usage scenarios, we aimed to ensure that the app would be intuitive and accessible to all users, regardless of their device choice.

Usability Testing and User Engagement

This research initiative involved 10 potential users, inviting them to interact with the app in a controlled environment. This approach allowed us to closely monitor their experience, paying special attention to their interactions, frustrations, and moments of satisfaction. The feedback obtained from these sessions was invaluable, providing us with a clear view of where improvements were needed and confirming the aspects of the app that were already user-friendly.

Analysis and Refinement

The consistency in the results enabled our team to compile, analyze, and summarize key findings along with actionable insights. This process identified specific areas for refinement and enhancement, ensuring that every aspect of the app was optimized for the best possible user experience.

The culmination of our efforts was a refined version of the app, ready for its official launch on the app stores for the worldwide audience. The feedback gathered through rigorous testing and user engagement was central to this process, allowing us to make informed decisions that significantly improved the app. By the time of its release, we were confident that we had achieved our goal: to provide all attendees of the Olympics with a seamless, engaging, and enriching experience.
